Brentwood is an affluent neighborhood in Westside region of Los Angeles, bordered by Bel-Air, Encino, Pacific Palisades, Santa Monica, Sherman Oaks, and Westwood.
Brentwood is considered by many to be among Southern California’s most desirable neighborhoods. As such, it is home to numerous high-ranking film stars, entrepreneurs, television producers and music-industry executives. Brentwood residents benefit from its strategic location—close to the beaches of Santa Monica as well as excellent shops and restaurants, while avoiding the thick of the traffic, noise and density—makes it easily commutable.
The neighborhood covers a large area with varied topography- ridges and canyons of the Santa Monica Mountains define the area north of Sunset Blvd. while the area south of Sunset is hilly. Brentwood is notable for its large lot sizes and boasts one of the lowest population densities in all of Los Angeles. It has served as home for the likes of Nat King Cole, Clark Cable, Marilyn Monroe and Judy Garland.
Brentwood Village and Brentwood Country Mart are popular destinations for dining and shopping. More than a dozen restaurants and coffee shops are located within a two-block stretch of Brentwood Village offering a wide variety of cuisine.
The neighborhood is home to numerous public and private schools.
