There are so many excellent Farmer’s Markets in Los Angeles offering up every type of food and crafts you can imagine. Here are my picks for the best Farmer’s Markets in the city! If these don’t make you want to move to LA, nothing will!

Larchmont Farmer’s Market

Perhaps you saw my earlier post about the Larchmont Village Farmers Market? It is one of the best farmer’s markets in Los Angeles with upwards of 50 venders selling a wide variety of products. Or you can explore the surrounding area, and stop by one of Larchmont Village’s many quaint eateries nestled among the charming tree-lined streets. You may even enjoy some free music by a local artist. The Larchmont Village Farmer’s Market operates Sundays from 10a.m.- 2p.m. (shhh- some start early!) Free underground parking is available across the street at the Rite Aid. Meters start at 11am. Or just walk like me! Bring the whole family; the farmer’s market is wheelchair accessible. No pets; service pets only. And remember- many of the vendors are cash only! See you there!

When: Sundays from 10a.m.- 2p.m. (Sometimes they start earlier – shhhh!)
Where: 209 N Larchmont Boulevard. Los Angeles, CA 90004

My favorite/must have vendor is GOURMET SOUP.

Grand Central Market is the city’s largest and oldest public market, and it boasts over 50 privately owned and operated vending stalls selling fresh seafood, meats, produce, dry goods, flowers, and more. Over the last decade, Grand Central Market has become a true foodie destination featuring numerous eateries of all different styles of culinary fare. In 2014, Grand Central Market was even named one of the "Hot 10" restaurants nationwide by Bon Appetit magazine! Visit today, and you can also catch live music, movie screenings, trivia and more as you immerse yourself in a true Los Angeles landmark.

Santa Monica Farmers Market (Weds)

WEDNESDAY: Chefs from all over Los Angeles County converge on Wednesday’s Santa Monica Farmers Market for first pick of the goods. The market opened in 1981, and some of the original venders still continue to set up shop here each week! (Flying Disc Ranch in Thermal, Mike and Sons Egg Ranch in Ontario, and Scott Farms in Dinuba) Free 90-minute parking is available in the structures on Second and Fourth Streets, and bike stands are plentiful. Haven’t been in a while since I moved out of Santa Monica 17 years ago.

SATURDAY: The Saturday market is called the "Organic Market," and for good reason- it offers the largest percentage of certified-organic growers of any market in the city. Also featured are menu options from local restaurants and so much more!
