What’s at the Top of Larchmont?

 

If you live nearby, you have probably been watching a ton of construction going on at the very north end of Larchmont Blvd. at Melrose. It looks like it is almost finished so I stopped in with my girls to check out the apartments and see if they might be a good fit for family members who are considereing a future move from the East Coast.  My children’s school is a few blocks away so we have walked past this location (technically Hollywood) numerous times over the years. There used to be controversial night club at that location and then a dirty vacant lot for a bit.  The Apartments are called "LC" for the street, which is "El Centro"?

Their brochure claims a modern, mid-century aesthetic with open floor-plans, energy efficient appliances, Caesarstone counters,polished concrete floors, in home security, bike storage, gardens and most often, a balcony.

We toured a polished 2 bed 2 bath priced in the high $3000’s per month. I loved how the bedrooms were separated by the open common space. Our favorite spot was the massive roof-top desk with views galore! Our guide said they want a quiet building but this deck screamed "party"! There was a super tiny dipping pool that did not do justice to the roof and a must-have feature – a fire pit! And an outdoor screening room!

We then toured the indoor Theater Screening room (lovely!) fitness center (fine).  I can not wait until the new French market/cafe (Le Marche?) opens on ground level hopefully later this year. Our guide said over 20  of 80 units have been rented already.  Won’t you be my neighbor?
