My Favorite November Events- Part 1 (Nov. 1-14):

Happy November! Here are some of my favorite events around Los Angeles for the first two weeks of November:

First Fridays on Abbot Kinney
Come take part in this festive celebration of urban beach lifestyle at First Fridays on Abbot Kinney! This popular monthly event takes place in the heart of Venice, and features numerous food trucks, open galleries and extended shop hours. You will also find special deals and great happy hours at the many shops and restaurants along Abbot Kinney Blvd. Remember to show up early in order to find parking! (There are a few parking valets on Abbot Kinney, though you can get stuck in traffic on Abbot Kinney (best to avoid it). Valet Parking on Electric at Milwood (behind Abbot Kinney to the east at the Electric Lodge). There are 2 hour metered lots directly behind Abbot Kinney – Electric is the street behind it.)

When: Friday November 4 5:00-11:00pm some venues open later
Where: Abbot Kinney Blvd (Between Venice Bl + Westminster in Venice CA 90291)

Experience Film Noir!
This fall, Union Station in Downtown LA is launching a series of free monthly film noir movie screenings. The next screening takes place on Friday, November 4th, and the featured film is none other than the classic 1949 crime film noir, Criss Cross. The film was shot all over Downtown LA including in and around Union Station.

The Odd Market brings its monthly nighttime flea market to Silverlake Saturday, November 5th starting at 5:00pm. The event will be held both indoors and outdoors at the SIJCC property on the corner of Sunset and Bates. Come listen to live music as you browse the offerings of over 30 local venders inside the 4000 sq foot space called ‘The Box.’ Outside, you will find another 30 vender booths, food trucks, and a kids area with DIY arts and crafts! The Odd Market comes to Silverlake on the 1st Saturday of each month, and admission is FREE! (Pet’s are welcome in the outdoor area.) Don’t worry if you missed this one though- there are plenty more odd market events at various locations throughout the month.

When: 1st Saturday of each month (Dates vary by location)
Where: 1110 Bates Ave, Los Angeles

This is more than just a simple walking tour- there’s food, music, and various festivities and programs to entertain the approximately 10,000 Art Walk patrons. Come immerse yourself in a world of free expression and experience true LA culture at its finest while supporting local artists.
When: Thursday, November 10th from noon-10pm, but the party really kicks off around 6pm with the opening of the Art Walk Lounge located at 634 S. Spring St. at the MALDEF building.
